NICHOLAS TAUTUHI YOUTH WORKER
I'm Nick Tautuhi. I come from Te Tai Rāwhiti and have lived in Whangamatā since the end of 2016. I am married to Amy and am father to Lula and Kahurangi. I'm very passionate about whakairo and tā moko.
I'm very excited to be working for the Whangamatā Youth Trust and just so love to work with teenagers, trying to help them figure out what they love to do and journey with them through the difficult things they may face in their formative years. I love to offer encouragement and support for them in their interests and give them non judgemental ears to hear absolutely anything they want or need to get off their chests. I'm filled with hope for the futures of the rangatahi of the Whangamatā area and look forward to sharing that with the WBC community.

AROHA THOMPSON YOUTH WORKER
Aroha has been working with youth for over ten years within churches, high schools, and in mental health and wellbeing services. She is passionate about helping teenagers navigate these interesting years and walking with them to stay on track and reach their full potential. Aroha loves the outdoors and incorporating that into her work when possible. Originally from the South Island, she now calls Whangamata home.
MIKE COONEY CHAIRMAN
With a background as a teacher, youth worker, life-skill educator, national director, writer, and father (the latter being his greatest achievement), Mike brings a full skill set to his role as a trustee. His love for the outdoors sees him making the most of our beautiful part of the world through mountain biking, hunting, fishing, surfing, as well as guiding outdoor adventures with Wildman.

I’m Paul Hughes, originally from Whakatane. I’m married with 2 young children and have spent the last 14 years as a primary school teacher although I have recently had a change in career. I’ve always lived in small towns where I am passionate about local communities and contributing in whatever way I can. Ever since my teens I have been involved with youth groups. I have a love for all things outdoors while I am also a volunteer firefighter with the local brigade.
